Fight to survive on an isolated space station surrounded by hostile aliens. Wield massive weapons, run out of ammo, run away screaming, and die horribly all alone with no-one to rescue you.

Then try again!

ESR is a hardcore iron man roguelike. There is no saving, respawning, or chance of survival. If you survive, it's obviously a delusional fantasy caused by the stream of gruesome deaths you've experienced. You can just try to do better than last time.

The gameplay is highly tactical, with a wide variety of weapons and limited ammo which you must master and use efficiently to even stand a chance.

Made for the 7DRL (7 day roguelike) games jam 2023!

Gameplay video of your game.

Thanks for making this video! Very useful to watch how you learned the game. I do have plans to develop this further so the feedback is helpful.

Grenades are an interesting idea, I could add those as a secondary option with limited supplies.

One thing I do intend to add is attack validation so you don't waste ammo, so unless you have something to actually hit. Also I want to add a weapon stats display so you can see your weapon range and other stats easily.

Good point about having the mouse interface working for shooting and moving - definitely something I want to add in future development. I've been thinking about making this a mobile game too.

I agree levels might be a bit too big and the progress of new features (like new enemies being introduced) needs to be a little faster. So the gun enemies maybe should appear on stage 2, though possibly not so many of them (and the 3rd enemy type that we got made in the time of the jam maybe appears on stage 3).
