Void Scout v1.3 Update - Mutators, mayhem, and fewer UI gremlins
Hello everyone — this update brings a major new feature, a handful of visual tweaks, and several small fixes that should make the multiverse marginally less confusing (but absolutely not safer).
🧬 MAIN CHANGE – Mission Mutators
You can now add mutators when replaying missions. They make missions harder, stranger, and occasionally make you question your decision-making — but you’ll earn +25% data for your troubles.
There are five mutators:
- Combat Chaos – every enemy now has a bonus special skill - different each time. Think of it as a party trick, if the party hated you.
- Unstoppable – enemies gain extra health. They were already persistent; now they’re downright stubborn.
- Scarcity – ammo, health, and armour supplies are reduced. Perfect for those who enjoy suffering.
- Crushing Pressure – more tension events and enemy ambushes. Because the multiverse wasn’t stressful enough already.
- Elite Bosses – bosses now have more health and special skills. They also remain deeply unimpressed by your efforts.
Mutators stack, so feel free to mix them if you enjoy watching Alyssa question her life choices.
✨ Visual Improvements
- Updated Exoseed visuals — no longer a copy of the Exoartifact, they now look like something that is actually about to destroy the star system that you need to deal with immediately.
- Reduced flare sound radius and light brightness, so using a flare no longer feels like detonating a small sun.
- Fixed enemy and weapon log UI icons and stat displays. Things should now appear where they’re meant to.
- Improved nanotech card text UI fit, particularly for nanopairs. No more squashed words or accidental overlaps.
- Added blinking indicators on active buttons as a reminder that you still have actions available — such as unspent bonus nanotech at the end of your turn. (Alyssa appreciates the nudge.)
🛠 Minor Fixes
- Fixed an issue where enemy spawning produced slightly fewer enemies than intended. Unfortunately for you, this is now working correctly.
- Tutorial steps can now be progressed a bit faster, for those eager to throw themselves into danger without delay.
As always, thank you for playing, testing, and sending feedback. Suggestions for new features, mutators, or in-game events are welcome!
If you try the mutators and survive, do let me know how it went — or at least what’s left of you.
